Carbocysteine lysine salt monohydrate
Indications/Uses
Acute & chronic resp tract disease accompanied by excessive mucus.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Powd for oral liqd Adult 1 sachet daily. Syr Adult 30 mL once daily or 15 mL bd, may be increased to tds. Childn >5 yr 5 mL bd, may be increased to tds, 2-5 yr 2.5 mL bd, may be increased to tds.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Powd: Dissolve contents in ½ glass of water & drink.
Contraindications
Gastric or duodenal ulcer.
Special Precautions
DM, patients on low-calorie diet. 1st trimester of pregnancy, lactation. Neonates & infants.
Adverse Reactions
GI symptoms, dizziness. Very rarely, skin rashes.
