Single max dose: 15 mg Fe/kg IV inj or 20 mg Fe/kg IV infusion. Max recommended cumulative dose: 1,000 mg Fe wkly. Individualized dosage based on patient's body wt & Hb level. Haemodialysis-dependent chronic kidney disease Single max dose: 200 mg Fe daily.
Hypersensitivity to ferric carboxymaltose & other parenteral Fe products. Anaemia not attributed to Fe deficiency eg, other microcytic anaemia. Evidence of Fe overload or utilisation disturbances.
Discontinue use if hypersensitivity reactions or signs of intolerance occur; in patients w/ ongoing bacteraemia. Not to be inj SC or IM. History of severe asthma, eczema or other atopic allergy. Patients w/ immune or inflammatory conditions eg, SLE, RA; acute or chronic infection; hypophosphataemia. Avoid paravenous leakage at inj site. Patients on Na-controlled diet. Avoid use in patients w/ hepatic dysfunction. Not to be used during pregnancy. Not recommended in childn <14 yr.
