Indications and Dosage
Oral
Intestinal amoebiasis
Adult: 1000 mg daily in 2 divided doses for 3 consecutive days.
Child: As 100 mg/5ml suspension: 10 ml tid for 3 days or 15-20 mg/kg/day for 3 consecutive days.
Contraindications
Pregnancy and lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Flatulence, vomiting, urticaria, pruritis.

Description:
Mechanism of Action: Etofamide is a luminal amoebicide acting principally on the bowel lumen with actions and uses similar to diloxanide furoate.
