Description:
Mechanism of Action: Encainide markedly slows the rate of change of the depolarization phase of the action potential, has little effect on the repolarization phase and markedly prolongs the PR and QRS intervals. It has local anesth properties. It was used for the treatment of severe or life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias.
