Contents
Per mL Travoprost 40 mcg, timolol maleate 5 mg
Indications/Uses
Decrease of IOP in adults w/ open-angle glaucoma or ocular HTN who are insufficiently responsive to topical β-blockers or prostaglandin analogues.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Instill 1 drop into conjunctival sac of affected eye(s) once daily, in the morning or evening. Max: Not to exceed 1 drop daily.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Reactive airway disease including bronchial asthma, history of bronchial asthma, severe COPD. Sinus bradycardia, sick sinus syndrome including SA block, 2nd- or 3rd-degree AV block, overt cardiac failure or cardiogenic shock.
Special Precautions
History of atopy or severe anaphylactic reaction to variety of allergens. CV diseases (eg, CHD, Prinzmetal's angina & cardiac failure), hypotension; severe peripheral circulatory disturbance/disorders; resp reactions including death due to bronchospasm in patients w/ asthma; spontaneous hypoglycaemia or w/ labile diabetes; hyperthyroidism; muscle weakness consistent w/ certain myasthenic symptoms eg, diplopia, ptosis, generalized weakness; active intraocular inflammation, predisposing risk factors for uveitis; choroidal detachment. Aphakic patients, pseudophakic patients w/ torn posterior lens cap or anterior chamber lenses, known risk factors for macular edema. Possibility of permanent change in eye colour, periorbital &/or eyelid skin darkening; increase length, thickness, pigmentation &/or number of lashes. Not recommended w/ another topical β-blockers. Concomitant use w/ surgical anesth. May affect ability to drive & use machines. Not to be used during pregnancy. Lactation. Not recommended in childn & adolescents <18 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Ocular hyperaemia. Punctate keratitis, blurred vision, dry eye, eye pain, pruritus & irritation, ocular discomfort.
Drug Interactions
Potentiated systemic β-blockade w/ CYP2D6 inhibitors. Hypotension &/or marked bradycardia w/ oral Ca-channel blockers, β-adrenergic blockers, antiarrhythmics, digitalis glycosides, parasympathomimetics. Decreased response to adrenaline. Mydriasis w/ adrenaline (epinephrine).
