Indications/Uses
Progesterone supplementation of luteal phase in adults as part of assisted reproductive technology procedure.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1.125 g intravag once daily from day of embryo transfer. Continue for 30 days total treatment duration once pregnancy is confirmed.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Undiagnosed vag bleeding; known or suspected breast or genital organ malignancy; porphyria; history of or w/ thrombophlebitis, thromboembolic disorder, cerebral apoplexy. Missed abortion.
Special Precautions
Discontinue use if depression recurs to serious degree; early manifestations of thrombotic disorders eg, thrombophlebitis, cerebrovascular disorder, pulmonary embolism & retinal thrombosis occur. Conditions influenced by degree of fluid retention eg, epilepsy, migraine, asthma, cardiac dysfunction. History of psychic depression; risk factors for thrombotic disorders. Diabetic patients. May cause local skin reactions due to sorbic acid. Perform gynaecological check-ups prior to initiation & regularly during therapy. Nonfunctional causes should be considered in breakthrough bleeding as in all cases of irregular vag bleeding. Perform adequate diagnostic measures in cases of undiagnosed vag bleeding. May affect ability to drive & use machines. Severe hepatic impairment. Renal dysfunction. Not to be used during pregnancy. Not recommended during lactation. Paed.
Adverse Reactions
Somnolence; abdominal pain/cramps; breast tenderness, intermenstrual bleeding (spotting); headache, vag irritation, other mild application site reactions.
Drug Interactions
Not to be used simultaneously w/ other intravag therapies.
