Terazosin
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). HTN.
Dosage/Direction for Use
BPH Initially, 1 mg at bedtime, then subsequently increase stepwise to 2, 5, or 10 mg once daily. HTN Initially, 1 mg at bedtime slowly increase to achieve desired BP. Dose range: 1-5 mg once daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Special Precautions
Exclude prostate carcinoma prior to treatment. May affect ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Syncope, asthenia, palpitations, nausea, peripheral oedema, dizziness, somnolence, nasal congestion/rhinitis, blurred vision/amblyopia. Back pain, headache, postural hypotension.
Drug Interactions
Antihypertensive agents eg, verapamil.
