Per combi pack: 14 Claritrox tab each containing Clarithromycin 250 mg, 14 Metgyl tab each containing Metronidazole 400 mg, 14 Omilock cap each containing Omeprazole 20 mg
Dosage/Direction for Use
Should be taken on an empty stomach.
Claritrox Hypersensitivity to other macrolides. Co-administration w/ cisapride, pimozide, terfenadine & ergot derivatives. Metgyl Hypersensitivity to nitroimidazoles. CNS disorders, blood dyscrasias. Concurrent use w/ ethyl alcohol. Severe hepatic failure. 1st trimester of pregnancy & lactation. Omilock Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Claritrox Cross-sensitivity or hypersensitivity. Increased risk of Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea. Discontinue use if superinfection occurs after prolonged use. Hepatic or renal impairment. Pregnancy & lactation. Metgyl Discontinue use if signs of peripheral neuropathy or CNS toxicity develop. Blood dyscrasia or active CNS disease. Long-term use (>10 days). Severe hepatic disease. Not recommended during 1st trimester of pregnancy & lactation. Omilock Gastric malignancy. Chronic hepatic disease. Not recommended during pregnancy. Lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Claritrox Diarrhoea, nausea, abnormal taste, dyspepsia, abdominal pain/discomfort, headache. Metgyl GI disturbances eg, nausea & unpleasant metallic taste; nausea accompanied by headache, anorexia, vomiting. Omilock Abdominal pain or colic.
Drug Interactions
Claritrox Increased plasma conc of carbamazepine & terfenadine. Increased serum digoxin conc. Decreased serum conc w/ rifabutin or rifampin. Increased AUC of theophylline. Potentiated effects of warfarin. Acute ergot toxicity w/ ergotamine or dihydroergotamine. CNS effects w/ triazolam. Increased serum levels of cyclosporine, tacrolimus, hexobarbital, phenytoin, alfentanil, quinidine/disopyramide, lovastatin, bromocriptine, valproate, astemizole & CYP450-metabolised drugs. Ventricular arrhythmias w/ non-sedative antihistamines eg, astemizole, terfenadine & cisapride. Lowered Cmax, AUC & delayed Tmax w/ zidovudine. Metgyl Disulfiram-like effects w/ alcohol. Potentiated effects of coumarin- or indandione-derivative anticoagulants. Decreased hepatic metabolism w/ cimetidine. Confusion & psychotic reaction w/ disulfiram. Increased lithium conc. Decreased t½ & plasma conc w/ phenobarb. Increased plasma conc of phenytoin. Spuriously low values on AST assay. Omilock Increased bioavailability of digoxin. Increased plasma conc of diazepam, phenytoin & warfarin.
