Indications and Dosage

Oral
Cough suppressant

Adult: 25 mg 3-4 times daily.
Child: 2-6 yr: 12.5 mg 3-4 times daily; 6-12 yr: 12.5-25 mg 3-4 times daily.

Special Precautions

Not indicated for use in productive cough with presence of mucus or phlegm. May cause drowsiness; caution when driving or operating machinery.

Adverse Reactions

Drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth.

Drug Interactions

May enhance effects of alcohol, CNS depressants (e.g. antihistamines, sedatives, tranquilizers, barbiturates, narcotic analgesics, and anaesthetics) and CNS stimulants such as appetite suppressants and caffeinated beverages.

Food Interaction

Avoid alcohol and consumption of large amount of caffeine-containing beverages.

Description:
Mechanism of Action: Clofedanol is a centrally-acting antitussive agent for treatment of nonproductive cough. It is used to relieve cough due to minor throat or bronchial irritation.

Storage

Store at room temperature. Do not freeze. Protect from heat, moisture, and direct sunlight.
