Aspirin
Indications/Uses
AMI. Prevention of heart attack in certain high-risk patients; prevention of CVA after transient ischaemic attack.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals.
Contraindications
Severe hepatic & renal disease, haemophilia or other bleeding disorders, erosive gastritis or peptic ulcers. Childn <16 yr.
Special Precautions
Prior history of serious GI events, asthma. Renal or hepatic impairment. Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
GI distress, nausea, vomiting, gastric mucosal erosion & ulceration, occult blood loss.
Drug Interactions
Dipyridamole, corticosteroids, coumarin anticoagulants, sulphonylureas, hypoglycaemic agents, MTX, phenytoin, valproate.

Anticoagulants, Antiplatelets & Fibrinolytics (Thrombolytics)
