Acute infectious diarrhoea in infants, childn & adults. Prevention of antibiotic-associated diarrhoea in childn & adults. Prevention of tube feeding-associated diarrhoea & C difficile recurrence in adults.
Adult 1 or 2 cap/sachet once or bd. Childn >6 yr 1-2 cap daily. Infant & childn 1 or 2 sachet daily. Duration of treatment: Acute infectious diarrhoeaApprox 1 wk. Prevention of antibiotic-associated diarrhoea Start treatment w/in 48-72 hr, continue for at least 3 days & not >4 wk. Prevention of C difficile recurrence Start as soon as possible & continue for 4 wk. Prevention of tube-feeding associated diarrhoea Max duration: 4 wk.

Administration
May be taken with or without food: Do not mix w/ very hot/iced/alcoholic drinks or food. Cap: Swallow w/ a glass of water. Powd for oral susp: Pour & mix contents w/ water/sweetened beverage/food or into baby's feeding bottle.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Patients w/ central venous catheter. Critically ill or immunocompromised patients.
Patients w/ modified immune system eg, HIV infection, chemotherapy, irradiation. Central venous catheter, critically ill or immunocompromised patients. Ensure adequate hydration & proper diet. Not to be mixed w/ very hot (>50°C), iced or alcoholic drinks or food. Fructose/sugar intolerance. Not recommended during pregnancy & lactation.
