Indications/Uses
Adjuvant treatment of postmenopausal women w/ estrogen receptor +ve early breast cancer who have received 2-3 yr tamoxifen & switched to Aromasin for total completion of 5 consecutive yr adjuvant hormonal therapy. 2nd-line treatment of advanced breast cancer in women w/ natural or induced postmenopausal status whose disease has progressed following anti-estrogen therapy alone. 3rd-line treatment of postmenopausal woman w/ advanced breast cancer whose disease has progressed following multiple hormonal therapies.

Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Not to be administered to women w/ premenopausal endocrine status. Assess bone mineral density in women w/ osteoporosis or at risk of osteoporosis. Perform routine assessment of 25-hydroxy vit D levels prior to treatment. Not to be co-administered w/ estrogen-containing medicines. May affect ability to drive & use machines. Not to be used during pregnancy & lactation. Ped patients.
Adverse Reactions
Hypersensitivity; anorexia; depression, insomnia; headache, dizziness, carpal tunnel syndrome, paraesthesia; hot flush; abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, dyspepsia; hepatitis, cholestatic hepatitis; acute generalised exanthematous pustulosis, rash, hyperhidrosis, alopecia, urticaria, pruritus; fracture, osteoporosis, joint & musculoskeletal pain, trigger finger, tenosynovitis stenosans; pain, fatigue, peripheral oedema; increased hepatic enzyme, blood bilirubin & alkaline phosphatase.
